The incident, which took place during RSF operations against the Sudanese army, resulted in the deaths of seven Chadian soldiers, according to Chad's government.

The RSF stated that the clashes occurred when the Sudanese army allegedly entered Sudan from Chadian territory. The group emphasized its respect for Chad's sovereignty and pledged to investigate the incident and hold those responsible accountable. Previous cross-border incidents have also been reported, including a drone attack in December that killed two Chadian soldiers.

The leader of Sudan's Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Habdan Dagalo, known as Hemeti, the paramilitary has expressed its regret over what it described as unintentional clashes with Chadian troops along the border last week. In a statement on its official Telegram channel, the RSF said the mistake occurred during field operations targeting the Sudanese army. The two sides had been locked in a deadly civil war for about two and a half years. On Monday, the RSF claimed the clashes took place when the Sudanese army entered Sudan from Chadian territory to stir disaccord and had then fled back across the border. Chad has blamed the paramilitary group for the clashes in which seven of its soldiers were killed. It's not the first cross-border incident. In December, two Chadian soldiers were killed at the border in an RSF drone attack. The paramilitary group says it respects Chad's sovereignty and will continue investigations and hold those responsible to account.
