The New South Wales coastline has experienced severe weather, with strong winds and heavy rain leading to large waves, beach closures, and significant disruptions. Emergency services have responded to over 900 incidents, including leaky roofs, flooded roads, and fallen trees, as gusts reached up to 70 km/h.

Areas such as Moorooya and Blackheath have recorded substantial rainfall, while hail and debris have caused additional hazards in coastal and inland regions. The weather system is expected to persist, with authorities urging caution and warning residents not to drive through floodwaters.

But it wasn't all beautiful, locals spotting maggots in their hundreds washing up on the shore at Dy. The wild conditions forcing beaches along the coast to close. Along the coast we're looking at fresh winds around that 50-60km per hour gusts and some at 70km per hour. The SES has been kept busy responding to more than 900 jobs across the state. So our volunteers have been responding to leaky roofs, flooded roads and also fallen trees on roads and houses. Just south of the city in Miranda, a tree came crashing down onto power lines and cars. While on the mid-north coast, clumps of hail the size of hands fell near Coffs Harbour while crews removed this massive tree from a home in Port Macquarie. So this weather can produce the heavy rainfall and also strong winds so we remind people not to drive through flood water. The south coast and Blue Mountains both copped drenching. More than 200mm has fallen in Moorooya since yesterday, while Blackheath has received 75mm in just five hours today. Strong winds and heavy rain picked up this afternoon as beaches right up and down the New South Wales coastline were battered by big waves.
