Parts of Florida experienced minor flooding on Sept. 8, and storms are set to continue this week.

Florida is experiencing ongoing stormy weather, with slow-moving thunderstorms causing localized flooding in several areas, including Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and Wakiva Springs. Reports include minor street flooding, flooded parking lots, and vehicles stalled in high water. While these storms are helping to alleviate drought conditions in some regions, the persistent low-pressure system over the northeastern Gulf is expected to bring additional heavy rain in the coming days. Elsewhere in the southeast, weather conditions remain largely pleasant, though coastal areas are facing rip current risks and cooler-than-average temperatures.

Stormy pattern lingering over Florida all week

relatively small scale flash flood warning. The weather service got specific about five miles from one end of that to the other, and that is set to run out and expire in 13 minutes. But to the north, we've seen this perpetual slow moving thunderstorm along parts of L. A. Alligator Alley and up into areas around Boca Raton and Boynton Beach. We've had locally heavy rain. The worst of that's beginning to decrease a little bit, but I did want to point out a couple of these flash flood reports here. We have Liberty City train spotter reporting some street flooding, relatively minor street flooding in some areas between Northwest 36th and Northwest 37th Street, 22nd Avenue. And then also we have another report of an off duty National Weather Service employee with a parking lot flooded there in an area three miles northwest of North Myrtle Beach. There's also a similar report here up into the Orlando Metro in Wakiva Springs. Emergency management reporting two cars stalled with water halfway up to the tire, so it must have been sedans. I suspect near Wakiva Springs Road and additional flooding has been reported near Douglas Avenue, too. So we've had some issues here in pockets of Florida, and it has been impactful. But outside of that area, we're looking really good for the rest of the southeast. And again, we're gonna avoid big trouble in most areas north of I 10 current temperatures. We are dealing with that cool air mass in the mid Atlantic. Look at Norfolk at only 72. There's a stiff onshore breeze there. We are at 90, where we've been avoiding the rain into Panama City. So some of you are a little warmer than others. But that little sliver of extreme drought is something that this rain is actually chipping away at south of West Palm Beach in north of Miami. So there's still gonna be additional heavy rain off and on over the next few days with that nearly stationary zone of low pressure over the northeastern Gulf travel disruptions. You'll notice that's the only show in town here for the southeast. The rest of us are pleasant. There will be some dangers along the coastline with rip currents, but temperatures nine below the historical average in Virginia Beach, about seven below average into Charlotte, Atlanta, four below the norm. This is great weather. If you like comfortable, comfortable attempts, 10 below average there into Jacksonville. So not a bad deal. But if we head west, it's a little bit closer to what we would expect this time of the year. And Anna, there are times when the northeast is dealing with some pretty nippy weather as well. Yeah, we've seen temperatures decreasing. We're getting closer to fall, and it certainly feels like it on the northeast. I mean, it has for a bit here. Overall, the three big things to know for the week in the northeast specifically. Well, those temperatures it's leading to frost potential for some of us.
