Weather forecasts indicate that eastern regions of the United States will experience unusually warm temperatures during Christmas week. The jet stream has shifted north, keeping cold air away and allowing high pressure to dominate, resulting in temperatures rising well above seasonal averages. 

Meteorologists report that temperatures could be 20 to 30 degrees higher than normal for this time of year. This spring-like warmth is attributed to the current atmospheric setup, with surplus cold air remaining far north of the affected areas.
