The cancellation applies to all federal and regional agencies, including bilateral security and defence agreements, as well as cooperation in the ports of Berbera, Bursaso, and Kismayo. Somalia, which declared independence in 1991, was only recently recognized by Israel.

The UAE built and controls a deepwater port and military base in the Somaliland city of Berbera. Mogadishu said the cancellation applies to all federal agencies, related agencies and regional administrations. That includes bilateral security and defence agreements and all agreements and cooperation in the ports of Berbera, Bursaso and Kismayo. Somalia declared independence in 1991, but wasn't recognised by any other nations until last month, when Israel became the first country to do so.
