Days of storms on the East Coast will continue this Thursday, with severe weather and flash flooding possible.

Widespread rainfall continues across the Northeast, leading to flash flood warnings, particularly near the tri-state area of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Emergency management has reported flooding of roadways, and there have been instances of downed trees and severe thunderstorm warnings, especially in Virginia.

The heaviest rainfall is expected to impact morning commutes, especially in Pennsylvania, with the potential for further slowdowns. The primary concerns are flooding downpours and damaging wind gusts, particularly from New York southward, while areas further north are mainly experiencing heavy rain.

Soaking rain continues across the Northeast

for some areas. Anna heading out the door tomorrow morning, there's gonna be some flooding rainfall possible to contend with. Certainly something you want to give yourself some extra time for the morning commute. I would say a good rule of thumb for the northeast as well. We'll talk about exactly why in a minute, but I'm gonna catch you up on what's happening right now because we do have a flash flood warning. Still, it has been moved east a little bit here. We're right at about the tri state area between Ohio, Kentucky and here's West Virginia, where we do have our flash flood warning on it going here. Now, one thing to note as I click on the flash flood warning, we do have reports that are kind of behind why this was issued. I know this is a lot of words going on, but basically it's saying flash flooding is already ongoing or expected emergency management already reporting some flooding of roadways, and we do actually have the storm reports to go along with it. I mentioned earlier with that first flash flood warning. Sometimes it takes a little bit for those storm reports to show up, and now here they are. We have to basically saying the same thing. It's flooding of roadways in this area, so certainly something we'll start to see maybe a little bit more as time goes on here, and we add on to our rainfall totals. We did have a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings in Virginia earlier, and we do have a couple different reports of trees down in this area here a couple different roadways with that issue. Now, as we take a look at radar overall, one thing to notice, we do have some thunderstorms, but for most of us, it's really just rainfall and not even that heavy. There's some areas where we have the yellows popping up, maybe a little bit of orange indicating that heavier rainfall. But overall, this is beneficial at this point. Here's where I was talking about tomorrow morning, giving yourself some extra time as we put future radar into motion. We stop at seven a.m. Here's why, especially if you live in the state of Pennsylvania, widespread heavy rainfall across really most of the state. Scranton, maybe you're in the clear at seven a.m. Specifically, but the point is we're more likely to see some slowdowns. You know how some rain and thunderstorms can really cause a headache during the morning commute, and I'd say tomorrow is probably no exception. The concern for severe weather, though it's gonna be focused from New York down south towards the southeast. We're talking about damaging wind gusts, flooding downpours as the most likely concerns here. Further to the north, maybe some locally damaging wind gusts. But overall, it's just some heavy rainfall.
