A coastal storm is forecast to impact the East Coast over the weekend, beginning overnight Saturday and continuing into Sunday. The system will first affect Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle, where rain is expected with some possible snowflakes, before moving into the Carolinas and Virginia, where light snow accumulations are possible.

As the storm progresses northward, there is uncertainty about snowfall in the northeast, with forecast models suggesting most of the system may remain offshore. However, cities such as Philadelphia, New York, and Boston could see some snow from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. While not a major snowstorm, the event may cause slick roads and hazardous driving conditions, particularly in the southeast.

Heads up East Coast. We're talking snow this weekend, and yes, that includes the southeast and the northeast. So it's a coastal storm starting Saturday overnight into Sunday. The first of you that are gonna see this Louisiana, the Florida Panhandle, but don't get too excited. Yes, we could see a few snowflakes mixed in, but for the Florida Panhandle especially, it's mostly rain. Places like South Carolina, North Carolina, Raleigh, up towards Virginia Beach, that's where we likely get some snow. We're not talking crazy snowstorm though. We're talking, yeah, some snow sticking to the ground, but according to an inch up to three inches really. And you likely don't see just snow. Even if you get snow sticking to the ground, you likely see rain and snow at some point as the storm moves through. Then it moves north, and this is where we have some more questions. Into the northeast, do we see accumulating snowfall? There's two ways this could play out, and models are really leaning towards most of this system staying out over the Atlantic. However, there is a potential for snow in Philadelphia, New York, even Boston. This would be Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. It's something we're watching very closely. Again, not a major snowstorm, but enough to cause some slick spots, and especially in the southeast. I mean, it doesn't take a lot of snow to lead to some not so safe road conditions.
