So the uncertainty surrounding when exactly they'll be restored amid the government shutdown is cause for concern. It's very stressful. I'm very depressed. I suffer anxiety. Yeah, so this week is going to be really, really busy. Dr. Monette Ferguson, who heads up the Bridgeport Anti-Poverty Agency Alliance, says the road ahead this week, both for her and SNAP recipients like Sally, will be far from smooth even though two federal judges have ruled that the Trump administration must use available contingency dollars to continue the SNAP program. It is deadly serious for families who are affected. Only thing is Senator Richard Blumenthal says even if the administration complies immediately, the process of loading benefits onto EBT cards could take several days or longer. The president has said all he needs is guidance from the court. Now he has it. Let's hope he complies with the law because people should expect they need and deserve these SNAP benefits. But Ferguson says she's hopeful that SNAP benefits will resume sooner rather than later. We are so grateful to see this light at the end of the tunnel. We are so happy that community members will be able to receive their SNAP benefits and now it's time to move on to the next goal.
