Chad highlighted previous incidents, including the deaths of two soldiers in December during a cross-border drone attack attributed to the RSF. The government reiterated its commitment to peace in Sudan through dialogue, while stressing that the safety and sovereignty of Chad will be uncompromisingly defended.

Seven Chadian soldiers were killed on Friday after fighting off an incursion by the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group, according to Chad's government. We condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms and draw the attention of all stakeholders to this matter. We tell them that this is the first and last time. This is unacceptable. This is the last time anyone will violate the integrity of Chadian territory to attack its defence and security forces and disrupt the peaceful lives of our citizens. It is not the first time Sudan's civil war is spilling over the country's borders. Two Chadian soldiers were already killed at the end of December in what Chad and the Sudanese military said was a cross-border drone attack by the RSF. There is no question of our sovereignty being violated, nor of this conflict having repercussions on our territory or undermining cohesion, peace and tranquillity in our country. We therefore deplore this situation, as our wish and our position are clear. We want peace in Sudan, through peaceful means, through dialogue and negotiation. This has been our country's consistent position. We do not accept that the lives of our peaceful citizens be threatened. This is something on which we are uncompromising." Since the RSF seized the city of El Fasher from the Sudanese military in October, RSF attacks near the Chadian border have recurred on several occasions.
