The official death toll remains incomplete, with many people still missing and the number of casualties expected to rise. Survivors are in urgent need of food, safety, and medical supplies, particularly for children.

Every single house is damaged. You can see a lot of destruction. These families are lucky and were able to escape. But their next destination is unknown. They chose this treacherous journey on a road that could be a death trap. At any moment, a car can fall into the valley below. As we are trying to get to the villages, another aftershock took place. We are getting out of the cars for safety reasons. It's not clear. How dangerous is this? To say that it's dangerous is an understatement. From above, we see the destroyed villages, as people make their way out with whatever valuables they can carry. This used to be my house. Four of my family members were killed. I lost everything. Getting here was a harrowing experience. Driving for hours on winding cliffside roads, with aftershocks shaking the ground beneath us until we finally made it. And in these destroyed villages, rescue workers are working around the clock in search for survivors. But hope is fading. The official death toll isn't final. With so many still missing, the number will most certainly rise. They need food assistance, also for safety. Also, they need children's medicines. This is a paradox of beauty and despair.
