Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said a residential building in the central Pechersk district and another in Dneprovskyi neighbourhood were badly damaged. He also said energy infrastructure had been hit. In the north-eastern city of Sumy, close to the Russian border, a fire engine was struck by a drone as it was responding to an earlier strike in the city centre. The state emergency services of Ukraine said the strike was deliberate but that nobody was injured. Widespread power outages were also reported in the city. Russia said Ukrainian strikes in the Rostov border region also killed several people. The mayor of the city of Taganrog on the Black Sea reported heavy bombings. As a result of the massive overnight air strike on our city, two apartment buildings, a private home, the mechanical college building, two industrial enterprises and kindergarten number seven were damaged. The attacks came as Ukrainian and US officials met in Geneva on Monday to discuss the US-Russia brokered peace deal, talks the Ukrainian side had described as very productive.
