The actress who we first saw on our screens on the Channel 10 show Echo Point when she was just 16, who then went on to star opposite Heath Ledger in Two Hands, before heading off to conquer Hollywood in movies like Bridesmaids and TV shows like Damages, tonight won her first Golden Globe Award for her work in the film If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You. The magical mix of TV and movie styles is what makes the Globes special, and there were some standout looks on the carpet. The hottest new stars on the planet faced some heated rivalry for attention with more familiar faces, many of them Australian. Jacob Elordi scored two nominations, one for the Aussie TV drama The Narrow Road to the Deep North, and one for the film Frankenstein. Plus, he has more to come with Wuthering Heights out next month. What do you think of Australia's decision to ban social media for under-16s? I think it's an extraordinary move. I think other countries are starting to follow it. I think it's very interesting that the countries that are resisting it, despite the pressure that is being placed on them, particularly the UK government, and I hope, hope, hope that they start to take seriously the damage that social media is doing. Best Picture, Musical or Comedy went to the Leonardo DiCaprio film One Battle After Another, while Best Picture Drama went to Hamnet, setting up a pretty fierce Oscar race.
