He was kicked out of the band in 1979, but musically, he kept going, selling out shows as a solo artist. He and his wife ran OzFest, an annual touring music festival, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. He loved pleasing the fans. He was almost obsessively involved in wanting to give the fans a good show. Fans loved him on MTV's reality show, The Osbournes. He and his family gave viewers a look inside their private lives, laying the groundwork for future celebrity reality shows. He kept performing even after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. On Tuesday, loved ones released a statement saying he was with his family and surrounded by love when he passed. Online, the tributes keep coming. Black Sabbath posted this picture with the caption, Ozzy forever. Pearl Jam thanked Osbourne for his music, calling his voice a great escape.
