A record cold front is affecting the deep South, with windchill temperatures reported as low as 31°F in Tampa, 32°F in New Orleans, and 37°F in Houston. Daytime highs across the region are forecasted to be 10 to 20 degrees below average, though some areas may experience milder conditions as winds decrease.

The Mississippi River Valley may reach the low 60s, while cold air persists over Appalachia and North Georgia. Temperatures along the Florida-Georgia line are expected to remain in the 50s, resulting in a notably cool day for the region.

You can see along the Mississippi River Valley, we might sneak into the low 60s. The cold air kind of staying around Appalachia and kind of wedged in into North Georgia. The Florida-Georgia line will be in the 50s. So it'll definitely be a cool day.
