A surface low-pressure system is causing rainy and windy conditions across the Northeastern United States. The system's counterclockwise flow is drawing in moisture and increasing wind speeds, particularly along the coast. Tightening isobars indicate strengthening winds, which are expected to persist into the following day and impact both the Northeast and parts of the Midwest. The unsettled weather may continue into the start of Halloween, especially affecting upstate New York with wet and breezy conditions.
