Rain is expected to impact the I-95 corridor in the Northeast during the second half of the day and into the night, with heavier rainfall possible in New Jersey and the Delmarva region. As colder air from winter storm Alston moves in, snow is forecast to develop, particularly affecting Michigan, northern New York, northwest Pennsylvania, and eastern Ohio.

Winter storm watches are in effect for these regions, with snowfall totals of 3 to 5 inches or more expected in areas south of Syracuse and west of Buffalo. Lake-effect snow could lead to even higher accumulations, resulting in significant travel disruptions and the need for snow removal.

So anybody hitting the road late tonight, you'll be dealing with some of that. Another batch comes through through the overnight hours and early morning tomorrow for New Jersey. That might have a little bit more potency to it in terms of heavy rainfall out towards the Delmarva. But what we're doing here is we're waiting for that cooler weather come through from, you know, that winter storm Alston that will eventually bring us some much needed snowfall. Here's a look at the overall pattern Wednesday evening. We start to see some snow impacting Michigan and maybe just now starting to impact I 90. But again, folks around I 95. We've had the rain. It's been very mild. We need the cold air to swoop in. It's just been too warm. So that's why we're all green as we go through now into tomorrow. And even Michigan is green until the cold weather comes through and transitions that over to snow. So where do we stand as of right now? We're already kind of gearing up for it and preparing for it. We've got winter storm watches up right now. Northern Michigan, much of the empire state, especially for the elevated areas are up around the lake affected locations. Meanwhile, back into northwest Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio as well. Look at some of these totals. I mean, we're talking about good shovelable. Okay, got to wait for the snow plow kind of snowfall, right? We're talking 345 plus inches of snowfall just south of Syracuse and west of Buffalo. But then you get the purple sections when that lake effect really kicks in and that allows your snow to pile
