A swift weather system is moving across the Northeast, bringing a combination of snow, rain, and mixed precipitation. The system is expected to cause minor snow accumulations in cities such as New York City and Boston, with a possibility of rain mixing in and making forecasts challenging.

Interior sections of the Northeast are forecast to receive higher snowfall amounts, ranging from five to eight inches. The precipitation is expected to begin in the morning and continue through Wednesday, with the type and amount of precipitation varying based on local temperatures.

We have you guys with the snow, but there's also the possibility of rain mixed in, which makes for a very tricky forecast in determining who gets how much. So here's a look at how much we are expecting for the time being. Again, this is tomorrow through Wednesday. Minor amounts. We're talking a coating, if anything, around New York City up towards Boston. Higher amounts, though, as you make your way for the interior sections of the northeast in that lighter purple, anywhere from five to eight inches expected.
