Private Israeli contractors have played a significant role in the ongoing demolition of buildings in Gaza, working alongside military operations. According to reports, these contractors are paid over $1,000 a day for their work, which includes not only demolishing structures but also dumping debris from Israeli communities onto Gaza's ruins. 

The widespread destruction has been described as apocalyptic, with the United Nations estimating the debris to be equivalent to 13 Giza pyramids. The continued demolition, even during ceasefires, has made it increasingly difficult for Palestinian families to search for missing relatives amid the rubble.

The scene in Gaza is apocalyptic. The United Nations says Israeli attacks have left the equivalent of 13 Giza pyramids in debris across Gaza, 55 million tons of cement, mangled iron and shattered lives. It wasn't just Israeli bombs or tons of explosives planted by soldiers that caused this devastation. On the ground, private Israeli contractors have been working for months to erase Gaza, one house at a time, while posting videos of their handiwork online. They are feasting on this crime. They are profiting from a crime and they are, in legal terms, they are aiding and abetting a crime and they are well aware of this crime. According to Israeli reports, these contractors get paid over $1,000 a day for the destruction. Two weeks into the ceasefire, the destruction continues behind the so-called yellow line in Gaza. Here, demolition work in Rafah is captured by cheering Israeli soldiers, while Palestinians watch their neighborhoods turn into plumes of dust. These private Israeli contractors are also adding to the Gaza rubble, taking construction waste and debris left by the Israeli army in Israeli communities bordering Gaza and dumping them on top of Gaza's ruins. They have the intent to make Gaza unlivable and this contributes to the bigger crime, i.e. genocide. While these contractors make a profit from erasing communities, the task of 10,000 Palestinian families searching for their loved ones under the rubble becomes increasingly insurmountable.
