The discovery was made by officers from the 68th Precinct in coordination with the New York City Sheriff's Joint Task Force during an alleged kidnapping.

Police in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, seized more than 600 pounds of illegal marijuana products after a home invasion led them to a basement safe house. The operation, conducted by officers from the 6A precinct and the Joint Task Force with the Sheriff's Office, uncovered at least 500 pounds of marijuana flower and over 100 pounds of other marijuana and THC-laced products.

The investigation began with an alleged kidnapping, which directed authorities to the residence where the drugs were found. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping, and a third person was charged with possession of the illicit marijuana. The case has been referred to the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.

I'm standing in front of the 6A precinct here in Diker Heights where officers were working with the Joint Task Force from the Sheriff's Office and recovering over 600 pounds of illegal marijuana products they say were seized from the basement safe house of a home. You can actually see what police say was just in that one box alone at least 500 pounds of marijuana flower product and over 100 pounds of other marijuana and THC laced products also recovered from that same residence. The Sheriff's Office says this all started with an alleged kidnapping they say that led them to that home you can see on your screen and that's where those drugs were found. Now they said they also pulled over 150 additional pounds of marijuana from a vehicle they say was connected with that alleged kidnapping. Now two people have been arrested for that alleged kidnapping and a third person has been charged and arrested for the possession of all of that illicit marijuana.
