Police reported that the vehicle, a silver Alfa Romeo, sped through an intersection and came to rest 30 metres inside the building. The driver, a 63-year-old man, was taken to hospital under police guard as authorities continue their investigation.

Jack Peary joins me now with the details, and Jack, bystanders witnessed it all and rushed to help. Ursula, it's something no one should have to witness, but there were multiple people in the area at the time of the incident and watched on in horror. It all unfolded just before 9.30am when a silver Alfa Romeo sped through an intersection, somehow missing traffic and hitting a medical centre. Unfortunately, a male pedestrian who was walking outside of the centre was struck by the car, with pedestrians rushing to help, but he died at the scene. The car was travelling so fast it went right through the building, injuring one other person, a woman who was seeing her doctor at the time. She was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, but is now in a stable condition. Police say the incident could have been much, much worse. The car come to rest at the rear of the medical centre, which is some 30 metres inside the shop. She's very fortunate. I mean, everybody within the clinic and the pedestrians, really tragic that there's one who has lost his life, but really fortunate that there's not multiple. The investigation now surrounds the driver of the vehicle, a 63-year-old man who was taken to hospital under police guard.
