Both McLaren drivers employed different tyre strategies, but Norris's errors in the final laps allowed Piastri to secure his eighth career victory, drawing level with fellow Australian Daniel Ricciardo.

The result doubled Piastri's lead in the championship standings to 16 points with 11 races remaining in the season. Other highlights included Lewis Hamilton's climb from 18th to 7th place and a notable interview between Nico Rosberg and Max Verstappen's father following Red Bull's dismissal of Christian Horner.

Making it career win number 8 for the Aussie, who at 24 years old draws level with Daniel Ricciardo. 11 races remain this season, Piastri has doubled his lead over Norris to 16 points.
