At Bondi Bridge, the community gathered in song as discussions continue over the future of the site, which has become a symbol of both tragedy and resilience for the Jewish community. While some, including Premier Chris Min, advocate for demolishing the bridge due to its association with a recent attack, others—including victims' families—wish to preserve and transform it into a place of hope.

Waverley Council has announced that extensive community consultation will precede any decision. Meanwhile, volunteers are preserving thousands of tonnes of donated flowers, turning them into art, tribute gardens, and furniture, with plans for an exhibition at the Jewish Museum in 2027.

Premier Chris Min says it should be demolished as it acts as a ghoulish reminder of the horrific attack. Waverley Council last night told the community extensive consultation is needed before making a decision. There are so many things to be thought about here and it will take time. Rushed decisions whilst people are still sitting with and processing that grief are a mistake. The Jury Council is in favour of restoring the ageing structure. The victim families that they wanted to stay, they wanted to become something beautiful and hopeful. Just like the smiles at Bondi Police Station as injured constable Scott Dyson dropped in after being discharged from hospital after 31 days. The 3,000 tonnes of flowers that were donated have been meticulously sorted and preserved by over 100 volunteers now moving into the experimental art stage. A lot of anger and grief is being felt and I felt softening in this space. Pressing petals, extracting seeds for a tribute garden and using colour pigments to create murals based on actual photographs from Bondi. The compost is also being used to create artwork or furniture that will be in exhibitions. With the hope it will open at the Jewish Museum in 2027. Sarah Naven, 10 News.
