Shortly after this milestone, the company's CEO met with President Trump in South Korea, following a confirmed donation to the construction of a White House ballroom. The exact amount of the donation remains undisclosed, but the CEO described the contribution as a small way to support what he called a historic monument.

The meeting underscores NVIDIA's increasing proximity to the US administration, with the CEO regularly interacting with President Trump. The company reportedly weighed the political implications of its relationship with the president, similar to considerations made by other tech leaders. The CEO has publicly embraced Trump and used supportive language regarding the administration.

This comes just one day after the chipmaker CEO took the stage at NVIDIA's Developers Conference here in Washington. He's now in South Korea. Meeting with President Trump and other leaders there showed his support for the president by donating to the construction of his White House ballroom. We are so delighted to be able to contribute in a small way to what is clearly going to be a historic and national monument. And so we're delighted to do that. Did a guy who runs a company valued at five trillion dollars say they were contributing in a small way? Yes, in fact, he did. Finn Gomez and Jennifer Jacobs join me now. Jennifer covers the White House. Finn does as well as executive editor of politics in the White House. Right. Yeah, he's in charge. You were there for this meeting with Jensen Wang yesterday. I mean, this happened to have it timed for this. And then he had to fly off to South Korea. But he's become an incredibly key player in this town and is in touch with the president on a pretty regular basis now, right? That's right. He's the latest tech exec to have a lot of close proximity to President Trump. And I can tell you, Finn, after spending a few hours with him, watching him and asking him questions, he is a born salesman. He's the star of the A.I. world right now. He has a lot of Elon Musk vibes. He has the thing where he shuns suits in favor of these black jeans and the black motorcycle jackets. And he's one of the richest men in the world. And his company had to make a political calculation on how close to be to President Trump. You remember, Elon Musk experienced the backlash against Tesla for his proximity to Trump. NVIDIA had to weigh that as well. Sources told CBS News earlier this month that NVIDIA had donated to that ballroom. Now, the White House would not confirm it to us. We had to ask Jensen Wang himself yesterday. He did confirm it. But we don't know how much, right? We've still been trying to figure that out. But, no, we do not know how much. But he's made a full embrace of Trump, just like Musk. He uses phrases like NVIDIA is making America great again. And he's giving Trump token gifts and things like this. And like you said, after he talked to us, flew right off to Korea to make more deals. Well, even as he's getting ready to meet with the Chinese president, the president is using Truth Social to talk about elections next week in Virginia, New Jersey and New York. Just Truth Socialing a little while ago. Vote Republican if you want massive energy costs and crime reductions. They seem to think over at the White House they got a chance with New Jersey, right? They do. A minute to go. Absolutely. I spoke to some sources close to the White House. And believe me, out of the four major races that are happening on Tuesday, the New Jersey, that governor's race, that New Jersey is the one they feel that they can potentially eke out a win with the Republican Jack Cittarelli, especially because they feel that he has the you look at some of these polls are coming out recently. He does have the enthusiasm on his side. Also, he has this, you know, authentic is the word of the cycle, I believe. Right. And they feel that he has that authenticity. He's very Jersey as opposed to Mikey Sherrill, they say. He's kind of like your Uncle Jack from two stops over on the turnpike. Right. He's got that vibe, if you will. But, you know, this is also a state, Ed, Finn, Ed, that that this is also a state that has a huge advantage for Democrats in the sense that even though registration has gone down, they still have over like almost a million more registered Democrats in this state than Republicans. Uncle Jack to two stops over on the turnpike. We'll see. But he's not making any plans to go up there. Right. Look, not yet, but potentially. Yeah. OK. I would close the door on it. All right.
