CNBC's Emily Wilkins caught up with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in the halls of Capitol Hill

Wang emphasized the importance of maintaining U.S. technological leadership and supported export controls, stating that Nvidia prioritizes launching its most advanced technology with American companies. He also noted that the industry naturally collaborates with leading U.S. firms, helping to safeguard national interests. Wang confirmed that his meeting with President Trump included a discussion on export controls and an exchange of holiday greetings.

And we begin with the action in Washington D.C. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Wang was on Capitol Hill speaking with lawmakers. He also met with President Trump. The focus here is export controls. Are Emily Wilkins caught up with Wang in the halls of the Capitol. There are a number of China hawks who are very concerned that if their chips are being able to go to China and other countries that's really going to compromise U.S. security. What's your message to them. We have to ensure national security. Remember China makes plenty of chips and their military has plenty of ample chips and bought China Chinese chips to build whatever they need. We need to ensure America can continue to win the technology lead leadership position around the world. Does there need to be some degree though of protection on advanced chips that NVIDIA and others produce. Maybe not something as extreme as the DNA. But something within that thing. We support export control and we believe that the United States should have the best technology all the time. So how do you make sure the U.S. does have the best technology then. Like if not with the controls and some of the stuff that's gone with DNA. How do you really make sure that the U.S. is the one delivering that other countries are stealing our information. The fact of the matter is the industry has done that naturally all by itself. We work very closely with American technology companies of course the Microsoft's the A.W.S. is the Google's you know X.A.I. meta. All of these companies are American American technology companies that we work very closely with. And so it's very natural for us to design and to launch our latest generation our most advanced technology with American companies. First I said it with the president. I just you just met with President Trump. Yes. And what were you. What did you discuss. Was there any agreement that came out. We talked in general about export controls and I wish them happy holidays.
