Young people do not need to go to university to get a good job in South Australia. They can get technical skills, a secure job and high wages to go with it. 130 students in years 10 and 11 will set foot in the space accommodating specialist fields including aero skills, construction, early childhood and engineering. Education does not always have to be a classroom-based one and this responds incredibly well to the way young people want to learn. Students graduating with a secondary school qualification and a guaranteed position with a major industry partner, BAE Systems, Boeing and ASC, just some of the big names on the list. Investing in young people and their skills isn't just good for them, it's good for the state's economic performance in the long term. It comes as the country continues to battle a skills shortage. 29% of occupations were in need last year including technicians and trade workers. This technical college is the third of five available in South Australia totalling $208 million. The government says interest is at an all-time high from both students and businesses.
