Democrats today held an unofficial hearing about alleged violence from officers with testimony from people like 20-year-old Mubashir, a US citizen who was detained while on his lunch break. I repeated, I'm a citizen, I have an ID, the agent kept saying that I don't matter. President Trump had previously threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to clamp down even harder on protesters, but today walked back that threat. I don't think there's any reason right now to use it, but if I needed it, I'd use it. Instead, the Justice Department is investigating Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey over an alleged conspiracy to impede immigration agents.
