One of our state's most beloved traditions is back for another year. The National Western Stock Show opened this morning. It runs through Sunday, the 25th. New for this year, the Legacy Building featuring the Coors Western Art Show and a new bar is now open. So every year the National Western Stock Show brings hundreds of thousands of tourists to Colorado. Denver 7's Maggie Bryan has more on the impact all of those visitors have on our state's economy. On the road, he is here in Colorado. 16 days of agriculture at its best. It is authentic. It is real. The National Western Stock Show is back. And of course, the National Western. I can't remember a year that we haven't come here. And we'll bring about 700,000 people to the Denver area. What goes into putting on something of this scale here in Denver? Yeah, so I think what most folks think, we just work 16 days in January and then we take the rest of the year off, which is pretty far from the truth because realistically, we are planning for 27 in 26 as the show goes on. Stock Show CEO Wes Allison says this year's event will have a $175 million impact on the city. We have folks that come from all 50 states and 33 countries. We are truly worldwide. Local vendors like the Cowlots are feeling the boost too. We're here every day, all 16 days. The Hat Shop has a Denver location on East 47th Avenue, but during the Stock Show, they bring products straight to customers at this booth. You obviously have no one wanting your hats right now. There's not even a line, nothing. I know, it's sad, isn't it? What is it like to see all these people here? Obviously, this is a great exposure for you guys too to be here. It's just awesome to see people wanting to live the Western lifestyle. And outside the venue, restaurants nearby like Black Shirt Brewing Company mark their calendars for this influx of cowboys. We had a huge rush in here usually after the vendors get their booths set up. So for lunch, we had a huge crowd. Then this evening, of course, there's the concerts that go on, so we'll get a huge rush from that with Mission Ballroom. Owner Karen Dobson says the Stock Show comes at an important time in the middle of their winter slowdown. When they're in town, it's really good for the Rhino District. It's just huge for this whole area. It's a 120-year-old tradition that helps businesses thrive and keeps Western culture alive. You feel a little bit taller, right?
