A firebug is on the run after sending a Western Sydney fruit shop up in flames. It's the fourth time it's been hit by arsonists since April, and was still in the process of completing repairs since the last attack.

A family-operated fruit market in Mount Pritchard has been the target of an arson attack for the fourth time within five months. The latest fire required around 40 firefighters to control and led to the evacuation of 25 people, though no injuries were reported. The shop had recently been preparing to reopen after a previous ram raid and firebombing, for which two men were charged. 

Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze, focusing on a vehicle seen in the area and using fire investigation canines to determine whether the fire was accidental or deliberate. The case has been handed over to the State Crime Command as the community expresses concern over the repeated targeting of the business.

Three times, I understand, but four times, there has to be something else that's happening. Whatever is happening, they don't deserve it. They're nice people. It's believed tobacco and vapes are also sold at the supermarket, but neighbours question why the new tobacconist next door hasn't been harmed. Because four times in a row, it's a bit sus. Regulars say it was just about ready to reopen from the most recent ram raid and firebombing in June, where two men, recruited by a high-profile criminal syndicate, were arrested and charged. The shopfront's now sporting new gyprock and shelving, and four new sandstone slabs at the entrance acting as a blockade. But clearly that hasn't worked. They're watching the shop, they're doing their homework. Around 40 firefighters battled for over an hour to bring the blaze under control, all while evacuating 25 people asleep inside. While the flames did breach the mezzanine level, luckily no one was harmed. Exactly how it started inside is what's being pieced together, given fireys used heavy-duty saws to gain entry to the heavily fortified roller doors at both the front and back of the premises. We always look at these fires to try and determine is it accidental, or is there something a bit more malice behind those fire conditions, and that's what the canines will be able to pick up.
