A police pursuit in Hurstville, New South Wales, resulted in a crash involving a bus, an SUV, and a ute driven by a 45-year-old man wanted for outstanding offences. The incident began when officers attempted to stop the ute, which was linked to a man sought for domestic violence offences and breach of bail. The pursuit lasted only a few minutes before the driver lost control and attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended by police.

During the crash, a woman in her 70s, a 30-year-old mother, and her baby were assessed by paramedics at the scene. All individuals involved managed to avoid serious injury. The driver was taken to hospital under police guard for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

There's a lady who was running, chase him up and then say stop, stop. Crouching between cars he tries to hide but the officers close in and the 45 year old is taken into custody. At the same time a woman in her 70s is loaded into an ambulance while paramedics check over a 30 year old mother and her baby. All caught up in a crash after a bus and SUV came into the path of this blue ute, allegedly fleeing police. Yeah I saw one car, it's a white car with a little baby but that car almost knocked them. Officers had initially tried to pull the ute over further up the road after 10am realising it belonged to a man wanted for outstanding offences. The pursuit lasted only a few minutes before he lost control and tried to make a run for it. The ute driver was taken here to St George Hospital under police guard for mandatory drug and alcohol testing. Police revealing that he'd been on the run allegedly for domestic violence offences and breach of bail. All involved fortunately managed to escape serious injury, no doubt rattled by this morning's close call. Hannah Taylor, 10 News.
