From the chants to the signs, Broncos Country has caught the Bo Nix fever. Our Maggy Wolanske shows us how local dog rescues are jumping on the Bo bandwagon, where pups are being named after the Broncos' superstar quarterback.

Denver-area pet rescues have begun naming dogs after Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, reflecting his rising popularity among fans as the team heads into the playoffs. While hospitals report no increase in babies named Bo, animal shelters have embraced the trend, with several dogs now carrying the quarterback's name.

One German Shepherd named Bo Nix was recently adopted, while another dog with the same name remains available for adoption. The practice of naming pets after Broncos players is not new, but Bo Nix's recent success has brought renewed attention to the tradition.

When you have a superstar quarterback, fans naturally become Bo-lievers. From the jerseys to the chants, Broncos country has gone all in on the Bo-bandwagon. And our Maggie Mulansky found the QB's influence is spreading somewhere you might not expect. Micah, we cannot forget about history here. Back when the Super Bowl win came through here in the city in 2016. And parents were obviously very excited about that, naming their kids Payton. But has Bo reached that superstar status yet? I checked in with local hospitals. They tell me they're not seeing that yet. But local pet rescues here, they're all in on Bo. He loves it. He's just curious all the time. From the smells to the sights. He loves the people. People watching. This pup. This is Bo Nix. Shines when everyone's watching. Is this fun? An easy name choice. When the orange and blue are playoff bound. Go Broncos! He's doing an amazing job. What better way than to honor him with this guy here. Playing the name game isn't hard. We've actually been naming dogs after the Broncos for many, many years. So we've got some Von Millers out there, some Eric Deckers, Damarius Thomas, one of our favorites, of course. Bo came to the Front Range German Shepherd Rescue as a stray. He's with Foster right now and he's doing great. Loves other dogs. Loves other dogs. Loves people. And he's not the only pup carrying number 10's name. This is Bo. Bo came to us from a rescue in Texas when he was about three months old. The Colorado Puppy Rescue knows a name like this. If you're a Broncos fan, so is Bo. Could be a smart play. So you might want to come and meet him and just kind of see. Like a losing streak, their past hasn't always been easy. Because these dogs have been let down by humans, it's not for anything that they have done. Just like Bo Nix having his team. Go Broncos! These dogs have their humans. Yeah, he's definitely a star. Believe it in them. Are you going to eat your dog? Are you going to each game, each season with a fresh start? So that's kind of how we looked at it for Bo. He's finding his new home, so this is kind of his fresh start. Now we do have some good news here. Bo the German Shepherd was adopted this week. Here's a great photo of him now in his forever home. But that other Bo is still up for adoption. And we know in less than 24 hours here, the stadium behind me is going to be packed and maybe there are some potential parents out there. Alright Maggie, well maybe that Bo Nix name brought some much needed luck and brought sweet little Bo Nix's forever home. I love to hear it. Love your orange too. Thank you Maggie.
