The complaint was submitted to the Belgian federal prosecutor by lawyers representing several NGOs from Katanga and former directors of the Congolese state-owned mining company Gécamines. The lawyers clarified that while more individuals are accused, the current complaint focuses on those with Belgian nationality who can be prosecuted under Belgian law.
