A late week storm system is expected to bring an Arctic air mass into Texas and the east side of the Appalachians, resulting in a wintry mix of precipitation. The system is projected to cause widespread weather impacts, including ice and snow, which may disrupt travel in affected areas.

Forecast models indicate that cities such as Oklahoma City, Lubbock, Little Rock, and even areas as far south as San Angelo and Austin could see icy conditions. High pressure over Michigan will help drive cold air south, leading to a transition from ice to snow before conditions improve.
