This victory marks the first time a British driver has claimed the championship since Lewis Hamilton in 2020. Both Verstappen and Piastri expressed pride in their teams and looked forward to future competition, while Norris and McLaren celebrated a significant breakthrough after years of near-misses.

I'm just very proud with the people that I work with. They are my second family. It ends Verstappen's incredible four-year title streak and crowns Norris as Britain's first champion since Lewis Hamilton in 2020. Piastri, who finished third in the standings, was gracious in defeat. You know, not quite the ending that I wished for, but I think when you look at the season as a whole, I'm very, very proud of the work that I've been able to put in, that, you know, my team's been able to put in. Looking forward to plenty more, plenty more fights in the future. A breakthrough moment for Norris and McLaren after years of what-ifs and almosts.
