More rain and flash flooding are ongoing throughout Central Texas, with life-threatening flash flood warnings in effect for many areas around the Hill Country, including hard-hit Kerr County. Search and rescue missions have been paused for Sunday, as many areas are seeing river levels rise quickly.

Search and rescue operations in Kerr County, Texas have been paused due to ongoing flash flooding and rising river levels. Authorities have issued a code red alert, and evacuations are underway in areas along the Guadalupe River, including Hunt and Ingram. 

The region is still recovering from a previous flood that resulted in over 120 deaths and nearly 170 people reported missing. With heavy rainfall expected to continue, officials are maintaining flash flood warnings and prioritizing public safety.

Kerr County under flash flood, halting search operations

I can tell you all search and rescue operations have come to a halt here in Kerr County for the remainder of this day. They'll pick back up our operations again tomorrow. A code red has been issued here in parts of Kerr County and we do know that areas like hunt and Ingram to our west upstream on the Guadalupe River are beginning to evacuate people who are there trying to get people away from that river. The river that flooded now eight days ago the morning of July 4th 2025 killing more than 120 people, still nearly 170 people missing. The fact that this rain has been falling now for several hours and is expected to fall for several more. And we have that flash flood warning in place until 11 30 this morning. I can only imagine that folks who are on the ground here who lived through the July 4th flood have chills up and down their spine thinking, Oh my God, could this happen again?
