In the women's division, Ethiopia's Biswager Adera claimed first place, clocking in at 2 hours, 26 minutes, and 19 seconds, followed by compatriot Sofia Acefa Abebe and Kenya's John Jebkosge Kilimu.

The marathon attracted more than 41,000 participants from 126 countries, with runners competing across four categories, including the 42km marathon. The Istanbul Marathon is notable for its unique course that spans two continents, allowing racers to cross from Asia to Europe.

Adera claimed the top spot with a time of 2 hours, 26 minutes and 19 seconds. Behind her were her compatriot Sofia Acefa Abebe and Kenya's John Jebkosge Kilimu. Over 41,000 participants from 126 countries took part in this edition of the race. Runners were able to compete in four categories including the 42km marathon. The Istanbul event is known as the only marathon in the world to take place over two continents with racers crossing from Asia to Europe.
