Then, Hezbollah rockets hit Kiryat Shomona, killing one factory worker. Finally, Israeli fighter jets killed at least nine in Nakura and Ta'ir Harfa, according to local media. Lebanese groups called the strike on a medical center a violation of humanitarian norms. But Israel said the center was a military compound, and the strike was aimed at an operative who had been involved in attacks on Israel. The emergency personnel worked for the Islamic Medical Association, which is linked to Jamia Islamiyah, a political party with ties to Hezbollah and Hamas. Its leadership vowed further retaliation. The conflict between Israel and militants in Lebanon has gradually grown in scope and range since fighting began in October. The fighting has killed nine civilians and 11 soldiers in Israel. Nearly 240 Hezbollah fighters and about 40 civilians have died in Lebanon.
