The Magnum ice-cream factory is undergoing a multi-million dollar refurbishment. The facility, located at Minto in south-west Sydney, produces three million servings of the dessert a day.

Magnum has completed a $35 million refurbishment of its Minto factory in South West Sydney, enhancing production capabilities and reducing waste by 72 percent. The facility now produces 3 million servings of ice cream daily and supports 280 local manufacturing jobs. 

The investment comes as Magnum moves towards finalizing its separation from parent company Unilever. Despite the demerger, the company assures that its popular ice cream flavours will remain available in Australia, with no expected changes to product offerings.

I'm really proud of them. That team made up of 280 manufacturing jobs at the South West Sydney site. It's great to see manufacturing jobs staying in Australia and right here at Campbeltown. Years ago there were fears those jobs could be lost offshore, now the company is in the final stages of separating from parent company Unilever. As for what the demerger means for freezer cabinets here in Australia, not much. Your favourite flavours are here to stay, unless of course other customers get there first.
