House Democrats have published an image they claim is an illustrated birthday note from Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, dating back more than 20 years. The note, which reportedly features a drawing and a signature attributed to Trump, was released as part of a document dump responding to a House Oversight Committee subpoena.

Both Trump and the White House have denied the authenticity of the note, with Trump previously suing the Wall Street Journal for reporting on its existence. Ghislaine Maxwell, who compiled the birthday book for Epstein, stated in an interview that she could not recall whether Trump contributed to it. The release has prompted renewed calls in Congress for additional records related to Epstein to be made public.

It's the first time we are seeing the purported note, which was brought into existence when it was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. The president insisted at the time that it was fake. He denied writing it and sued the journal. An image of the note was part of a document release in response to a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee. And once again, the White House is denying it is authentic. President Secretary Caroline Leavitt posted a statement today saying it is very clear President Trump did not draw this picture and he did not sign it. Scott McFarlane is following the story. Scott. Yeah, this record is more than 20 years old, John, but it's adding new fuel to a fiery controversy the president is trying to extinguish. The message apparently bears the signature of President Trump and comes with an outline of what appears to be a naked woman. Democrats on the U.S. House Oversight Committee posted this image today saying it was President Trump's contribution to a 50th birthday gift book given to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. Years before, Epstein was charged with sexually abusing a series of young women. The note references a wonderful secret. In July, Trump denied making the sketch or the note and then filed a defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal for reporting the note's existence. I don't do drawings. Sometimes he would say, would you do a building and I'll draw four lines and a little roof, you know, for charity stuff. But but I'm not a drawing person. I don't do drawings of women. That I can tell you. In a statement posted to X, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt called the birthday card story false and said President Trump did not draw this picture and he did not sign it. During an interview in July with Trump administration Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Epstein's co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell acknowledged compiling the birthday book, but alleged she didn't remember if Trump contributed to it. It's been so long. I want to tell you that I don't remember. I honestly don't remember. So Scott, the timing, a lot of us wondering here tonight, why are we learning all about this right now? In late August, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed some of these records to include the birthday book shared with Jeffrey Epstein. Those subpoenas were provided to the committee today, according to Democrats, and that record is from the pile of records. But John and Maurice, that's not going to squelch this call for more records to be released. And Congress is still pushing on a bipartisan basis to see more.
