Gitex Global 2025 marked its 45th edition in Dubai, drawing record crowds and over 6,800 exhibitors from around the world. The event highlighted Dubai's role as a global technology hub, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence, including the launch of the world's first AI public servant feature in Abu Dhabi's TAM app and the Dubai AI Seal for trusted AI companies.

The event also hosted Expand North Star, the world's largest gathering of startups and investors, attracting participants from 180 countries. Organizers announced plans to expand Gitex Global to India and Brazil, further cementing its status as a leading international technology event.

We are in the middle of the world, we can connect 4 billion people within 4 hour flights. It's the gateway to Africa and Asia. It's been happening, it's nothing new. Having those companies here, whether they are large companies, small companies and startups, it gets us excited. But the reality is, Dubai has always been a magnet for those companies because the opportunities are there. This is where companies do connect from different parts of the world in Dubai. Gitex Global opened its 45th edition in Dubai with over 6,800 exhibitors. The world's biggest technology and AI event drew in record crowds as bold vision came together with the latest advancements changing the world we live in. M4Global is an AI-native company, we are using AI in all levels of the population, patient and national health system and it's extremely important to be here in Gitex as you meet academia, new innovative companies, new health organizations and we can be up to date on all the development in the AI field. The Abu Dhabi government made headlines at the event when they announced a new feature to the super app TAM. It's being billed as the world's first AI public servant. What it does basically is think for you, do all those mundane service registrations, renewals for you if you opt in, you never have to think about a government service again. What we're aiming to do as an AI-native government is not leave anyone behind. We are a very human-centric government, we use AI as a tool to make people's lives better and we're focused on convenience and efficiency and so that means upskilling all the public sector workforce in AI, we've reached 95% already, we're very excited about that and that means enabling all of us to use AI to make our lives better, our jobs easier and us much, much more efficient. The Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence was also in attendance and reflected on the success of the Dubai Seal, which was launched earlier this year to certify trusted AI companies whilst also driving public-private partnerships, once again cementing the UAE as a global leader in AI. There's a clear difference between automation and AI and we wanted to make sure that all the companies that are within the city are actually AI companies and we were thinking about how we could possibly do it and that's where the idea of the AI seal came through. We wanted to make sure that we provide an AI seal to every AI company so that we're quite sure that they either develop AI, they consult in AI, they actually do a research in AI, whatever the case and interaction with AI, we can provide an AI seal to make sure that you are the right company. Expand North Star is the world's largest gathering of startups and investors and is part of Gitex Global. This year's event attracted 2,000 startups and 1,200 investors from around 180 countries. We're seeing an investment just last year, investment into Dubai and upwards of more than 11 billion euros that have come through Dubai. We're seeing a large amount as well of companies that want to expand into the European market and trade between the EU and the UAE exceeding 200 billion as a result. So one thing we're seeing in terms of trends is we're seeing a lot of investors that want to explore new and developing markets, in particular from Europe, come to Dubai to do so and to events like Expand North Star here. Gitex Global is a crucial driver of cross-border investment and plays a major part in the growth of many companies. So this is my 15th Gitex. I think it used to be more like Tennecom or IT-driven. I witnessed the change from Tennecom, IT, now AI, big data, you know, LLM, all this kind of stuff. And it's becoming so popular, not only for Dubai or UAE market, but it's really becoming a global event. For Tencent, we started, I joined Tencent in the year of 2022, and then I decided at that time, you know, it was not that easy to fly from China to UAE, but we managed to be here. We started from here. The event is a cornerstone of the Dubai events calendar, and organizers also announced it would expand further with additions in India and Brazil in 2027. Gitex Global is truly that.
