A significant cold front is sweeping across the United States, bringing freezing temperatures and wind chills to many regions. Northern states such as the Dakotas and the northern Great Lakes are experiencing morning lows in the single digits and teens, while the cold extends as far south as Atlanta, Jackson, and even Tallahassee, which will see temperatures at or near freezing.

The cold weather pattern is expected to persist, with another wave of frigid air arriving over the weekend. Central and southern cities, including St. Louis and Auburn, Alabama, will also experience below-normal temperatures, while only the desert Southwest will remain relatively warm.
