Employers and advocacy groups highlighted the challenges migrants face, including lengthy legal processes, lack of shelter, and increased enforcement measures.

Advocacy organizations called for comprehensive rights for undocumented migrants, including access to education, healthcare, and housing. Government data showed that France expelled over 21,000 undocumented migrants in 2024, a 27% increase from the previous year.

Today, the whole restaurant industry recognises that immigration is a part of our business. Tomorrow, there'll be no restaurants without immigrant workers. It's that simple. We need to be inclusive, otherwise many businesses in France will have to close their doors. It isn't just restaurants. From construction to cleaning, entire industries rely on migrant labour, even as the rules governing their lives have grown tougher since January. To have a renewal is a total problem. Each week, campaign group Solidarity March brings together undocumented workers and those supporting them, as they fight for their rights. We are calling for all undocumented people to be given their papers, as well as full access to education, health care, housing and culture for everyone, and an end to police raids and violence. In 2024, France expelled more than 21,000 undocumented migrants, a rise of 27% on the previous year, according to the Interior Ministry.
