A vehicle matching the make and model rented by the Brown shooting suspect was detected near the MIT professor's apartment. No suspect is in custody, and searches are underway in multiple states.

His name has not yet been released to the public, but sources say authorities have issued an arrest warrant for him. Law enforcement sources say investigators are now looking into a possible connection between the Saturday shooting at Brown University and the targeted killing of an MIT professor two days later. 47-year-old physicist, Nuna Larrera, was shot at his Brookline, Massachusetts apartment Monday night. Multiple law enforcement officials tell CBS News that a vehicle of the same make and model rented by the suspect in the Brown shooting was also detected in the vicinity of the MIT professor's apartment. Like the Brown University shooting 50 miles south, there is no suspect in custody. He will be caught, and it's just a matter of time before we catch him. For days, the Brown investigation was stifled by limited video from the university's security cameras, and authorities called on the public to come forward with any leads. The failure to find the gunman has left residents and students like Morgan Lambert on edge. Still in shock, I guess. I mean, I know this happens all the time, unfortunately, but it's really terrible, and I think not knowing where the person is or who it is just makes it a lot worse.
