The heavy rainfall resulted in hazardous road conditions, with numerous vehicles becoming trapped in high water and some reportedly swept away. Major highways, including I-35, were impacted, and water rescues were conducted as authorities responded to the emergency. The depth and speed of the floodwaters made driving particularly dangerous, especially during low visibility conditions. Officials reminded the public that even a small amount of swiftly moving water can be life-threatening for both pedestrians and vehicles.

Listen, it only takes six inches of swiftly moving water to knock you off your feet, and it takes 12 inches of swiftly moving water to float and move a car.
