Amazon has unveiled the first official image of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the new Prime Video Tomb Raider series, marking the start of production. The series will feature Turner in a role reminiscent of the original games, with Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs joining the cast as new and established characters, respectively. Amazon aims to reinvent the franchise by connecting the live-action series with upcoming Tomb Raider video games, including 'Legacy of Atlantis' and 'Catalyst.'

Additional entertainment news includes the casting of Ryan Hurst as Kratos in the God of War series and the announcement of a Fallout Shelter reality competition show for Prime Video. The Fallout Shelter series will feature contestants in a vault-themed setting inspired by the video game, produced by Studio Lambert with involvement from Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Game Studios.

Damon here, and in today's entertainment news, we've got the first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series, the God of War series finds its Kratos, and Fallout Shelter is being turned into a reality competition show. This is your Daily Fix. Amazon has revealed a first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the new Prime Video Tomb Raider series. The image, seen here, was released to coincide with the start of production. Turner, famous for playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, plays a new take on Lara Croft, although with a similar look to how she appears in the original Tomb Raider games. Other recently announced cast members include Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs. Weaver will play Evelyn Wallace, a new character not featured in the original games, who is described by Amazon as a mysterious, high-flying woman who is keen to exploit Lara's talents. Unlike Weaver, Isaacs will play a character who is canon to the franchise, Croft's uncle, Atlas De Mornay. Amazon says the series will reinvent the franchise on a massive scale, and will interconnect live-action television series and video games into a unified storytelling universe. Those games will include two new Tomb Raiders, announced at last month's Game Awards. Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is a reimagining of the first game in the series, and is due out at some point this year. And the brand new game Tomb Raider Catalyst is due out at some point in 2027. Moving on, the upcoming Prime Video original series, based on the long-running PlayStation franchise God of War, has found its Kratos. Deadline reports that Ryan Hurst will be starring as the Ghost of Sparta, but this won't be his first appearance in this pantheon. Hurst provided the voice and performance capture for Thor in God of War Ragnarok. Beyond that, you might know him as Opie on Sons of Anarchy, or Beta in AMC's Walking Dead universe. He's also appeared in several films, including Saving Private Ryan and Remember the Titans, and his most recent project is the Netflix western series The Abandons, which premiered last month. The God of War series is still in its early stages, but it's in good hands. Ronald D. Moore is acting as showrunner, known for his work on Star Trek, as well as a few hit shows including Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, and For All Mankind. A lot of fans were pushing for Christopher Judge, who plays Kratos in the games, to reprise the role. And as cool as that might have been, Hurst's performance as Thor is one of the highlights of Ragnarok, so it will be cool to see his spin on the main character. No word yet on when this show will premiere, but expect more casting announcements to trickle out in the months to come. We'll keep you posted. And finally today, Amazon has announced a Fallout spinoff TV show called Fallout Shelter. Fallout Shelter is the name for Bethesda's strategy spinoff game, in which you manage a vault and its dwellers. Fallout Shelter, the prime video series, is a reality competition show.
