A family-run beauty clinic in Regents Park, New South Wales, was set on fire by two unidentified individuals shortly before midnight. The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the store and threatening apartments above, prompting the evacuation of local residents as a precaution.

No injuries were reported, but the business, which had operated for three years, was destroyed. The owners, who expressed devastation, stated they have no idea why their shop was targeted but are determined to rebuild and will temporarily operate from another location while police investigate.

At Regents Park, two figures in hoodies strike not long before midnight, sending a family-run beauty clinic up in smoke. Once the flames began, they took hold fast and the store was swallowed within seconds. I'm driving my children to school and on my way to work and my daughter screamed out Kalani and we had a look and we saw it's burnt down and we're devastated. The firebugs dodged the flames as they fled to a nearby car. Witnesses left to call for help. The fire was intense, the flames pushing out above the awning and around the awning, venting out one of the side windows, threatening those units above. It took firefighters around half an hour to contain the blaze. Until then, there were fears for residents sleeping in the apartments above. A number of local occupants were evacuated as a precaution. So the lucky people, no one got hurt. But the same can't be said for the store, which has been open for three years. The siblings that run it now preparing for a massive cleanup. The owners didn't want to speak on camera today but told 10 News they have no idea why their shop would be targeted but that it won't stop them from rebuilding and continuing their business. Late this afternoon, posting on social media. Last night at around midnight, someone came in and decided to light it all up. It's just heart wrenching to see someone try and make something of themselves and to see such a devastating act happen to a beautiful business in our community. For now, they'll trade out of their clinic at Bass Hill as police continue to hunt those responsible. Hannah Taylor, 10 News.
