The U.S. peace plan has been criticized for being too favorable to Russia, and further talks are scheduled between U.S. envoys and Ukraine's lead negotiator.

The comments were made as foreign ministers from European NATO countries met in Brussels on Wednesday, a day after U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Putin at the Kremlin on Tuesday. For his part, Putin has accused European allies and Ukraine of sabotaging U.S.-led peace efforts. The U.S. proposed a peace deal last month, however, the 28-point plan was met with widespread criticism for being too weighted towards Russian demands. On Thursday, Whitkoff and Kushner are set to meet with Ukraine's lead negotiator Rustem Umatov for further talks.

There will be no territorial concessions in Ukraine, the Ukrainian president said, answering Euronews' question on whether Kyiv is now being pressured into territorial concessions.
