EU officials have expressed reservations about working with the Israeli-backed Gaza humanitarian fund due to ethical and safety concerns. While some progress has been reported, including the entry of aid trucks, the agreement is not yet fully implemented. The United Nations has warned that Gaza's population remains at critical risk of famine, and several EU countries have called for a reassessment of the bloc's relationship with Israel.

Anything that will allow foodstuff, medicine, fuel to enter Gaza will be welcomed from us. But I want to know better the details about exactly what this agreement is about and also the mechanism of follow-up that the European Union will have to make sure that we will be able to check the implementation. It's very clear that this agreement is not the end. We have to stop the war. Details of the deal remain unclear, but EU officials have rejected any cooperation with the Israeli-backed Gaza humanitarian fund over ethical and safety concerns. We have some progress. We have some positive developments. It's true that we have trucks that are able to enter, but we don't know exactly how many. And what is clear is that the agreement is not fully implemented. And so my request, my message to the Israeli authorities is very clear. Put this agreement into action now. Stop killing the people. We need humanitarian aid, food, water, fuel to reach the people in need. A United Nations assessment in May found that the 2.3 million people living in Gaza are at critical risk of famine. Other nations like Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain have increasingly called for the EU's ties with Israel to be reassessed in the wake of the war in Gaza.

Russia's Vladimir Putin has rejected President Trump's ultimatum for Moscow to sign a ceasefire deal with Ukraine in the next 50 days. Trump has threatened to issue a 100% tariff on any country that does business with Russia if no ceasefire deal is reached.
