A 27-year-old woman has been charged with drink driving and using a mobile phone after crashing into a parked car in Canley Heights. The residents are now picking of the pieces.

A car crash in Canley Heights resulted in significant property damage after an Audi, allegedly driven by a 27-year-old woman under the influence of alcohol, collided with a parked car and overturned. Police reported that the driver initially fled the scene but returned shortly after and was taken into custody.

The driver was found to be three times over the legal alcohol limit and has been charged with high range drink driving and using a mobile phone while driving. Her licence has been suspended, and she is scheduled to appear in court. No injuries were reported, but local residents are left managing the aftermath and associated costs.

In fact, police say the 27-year-old did just that, fleeing the scene before returning shortly after, and was placed into their custody. Back at the station, they say she blew three times over the legal limit. Her wrecked car towed. But she's not the only one now without a ride. It's pretty cool, I'm not fixing that. Or left counting the cost. Booked holiday tickets last night as well, so that was a lot of money, so that was more money out the hole. Just finished paying for the wedding too. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The driver will face court here at Fairfield in November, charged with high range drink driving and using a mobile phone behind the wheel.
