Today in Washington, the Justice Department is expected to finally release a portion of the Epstein investigation files to the House Oversight Committee. Scripps News Congressional Correspondent Nathaniel Reed joins us live from our D.C. newsroom. Nate, it has been a long wait. What can we expect if and when these files are released? Well, Liz, stop me if I sound repetitive here, but we don't know. We don't know if this information coming out is new. We don't know if this is things that members of Congress have seen before. We don't know if this is information that's already made it out into the public eye through reporting or through previous disclosures. There's a lot more questions than answers going into today than are out there right now. And look, there is still the possibility that the information that the DOJ sends over to Congress today could be new information, but we don't know when it's going to be made public. And certainly there's another snag here that we have to at least factor into our consideration. The chairman of the House Oversight Committee has already said they won't just be releasing exactly what they get from the Department of Justice. They'll need to do their own redactions first. Take a listen. We're going to review and we'll work as quickly as we can. We you know, this is sensitive information. We want to make sure we don't do anything to harm or jeopardize any victims that were involved in this. But we're going to be transparent. We were doing what we said we would do. And again, that information expected to come out as soon as today, but we still do not know what we are going to see. This is the culmination of an incredibly long effort by Democrats and Republicans to try and get this information out there. This is continuing through the August recess. It seems like the Epstein fever we've seen on Capitol Hill during the month of July has continued without abatement into August. And we will likely see it when Congress returns in September. There's also a long laundry list of people who've been subpoenaed as part of this ongoing investigation by the Oversight Committee. Those include everyone from former Attorneys General to the Secretary of, excuse me, to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to come in and provide testimony to the House Oversight Committee. Not clear if that's going to happen. But again, this wide-ranging investigation just continuing to heat up, especially as Capitol Hill expected to see its first documents from that rare bipartisan Department of Justice subpoena in maybe just even a couple of hours.
