Prosecutors allege that Plasencia, along with others, supplied Perry with approximately 20 vials of ketamine in exchange for $55,000 in cash.

Several individuals, including another doctor, Perry's assistant, and an alleged drug dealer, have also pleaded guilty to related charges. One defendant, Jasmine Sonja, has pleaded not guilty and is expected to go on trial. Authorities state that Sonja used her apartment as a stash house for the drug.

The former Doctor of Friends star Matthew Perry disgraced physician Salvador Placencia has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine according to a court filing on Monday. Prosecutors allege Placencia and Dr. Mark Chavez exchanged text messages referring to Perry as a moron while speculating how much he'd be willing to pay for the substance. The sentencing guidelines don't take kindly to people in positions of power that abuse that position of power. CBS News legal contributor Caroline Polisi says the doctor could face 40 years or more in federal prison. One year after Perry's death five people were charged in connection to it. Three other defendants pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute ketamine including Dr. Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa who was Perry's personal live-in assistant and alleged drug dealer Eric Fleming. The fifth defendant Jasmine Sonja who authorities say was known as the ketamine queen has pleaded not guilty to all charges in connection with Perry's death. From September to October 2023 they distributed approximately 20 vials of ketamine to Mr. Perry in exchange for $55,000 in cash. Sonja is expected to go on trial in August.
